Position Description
The Cloud Solutions Analyst is a permanent, full-time position, based out of Edmonton, AB. Part of the technical team with an in-depth understanding and ability to support, plan, and implement cloud solutions with a focus on Microsoft 365, Azure, Datto, and HPe Aruba. The Cloud Solutions Analyst is part of the project team when migrating customers from on-premises environments (or other cloud solutions) into Microsoft 365 and Azure and provides on-going managed services which includes the day-to-day management and support of SaaS/IaaS solutions and on-prem infrastructures for hybrid environments.

Reporting to the Service Manager, this role has primary support & consulting responsibility, with a slight emphasis on presales support for solution design, and related activities, as assigned. Ultimately, as someone who is inventive, confident in the face of a challenge, and who has demonstrated skills in managing customer expectations, your contributions will help our customers get the most out of their investment in cloud solutions. The candidate will have strong technical writing skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, managers and executives at the technical and business level. Strong organizational, time management, relationship building skills are also desired.


Technical Skills Required

  • Deep understanding of cloud computing technologies, business drivers, and emerging computing trends.
  • Strong foundation in system administration, including performing backups, upgrading and patching, monitoring, alerting, deployments, and disaster recovery.
  • Understanding of infrastructure design, including public and private cloud, networking, virtualization, identity, security, and storage.
  • Experience deploying and managing the infrastructure for databases, primarily SQL Server.
  • Assist sales and pre-sales practices team members with the design and scope of solutions for statements of work and proposals.
  • Support team members through knowledge transfer and detailed documentation.
  • Help develop and continually refine models and delivery framework.
  • Help develop and participate in recommended training and certification pathways.
  • Assist in the development of new cloud solution offerings and services, as appropriate.

Experience Deploying, Administering, and Supporting these Solutions

  • Microsoft: Microsoft 365, Azure AD, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Business Voice, Exchange Online, Intune, Windows 10, Windows Server
  • Programming/Scripting Languages: PowerShell
  • Platforms: Linux, Windows
  • Networking: HPe Aruba, Fortinet, Cisco is an asset
  • Backup: Datto, Veeam
  • Systems: VMware and Citrix are assets

Non-Technical Skills Required

  • Proven track record of building deep technical relationships, creating rich technical documentation, and following industry standards.
  • Analytical and process oriented, with a proven track record of driving decisions collaboratively, resolving conflicts and ensuring follow through.
  • Problem solving mentality leveraging internal and/or external resources.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication.
  • Extensive technical experience with a minimum of 3 years experience in a customer-facing service delivery role.
  • Proven ability to ensure consistent customer satisfaction through delivery excellence.
  • Attention to detail and quality while maintaining a high level of productivity, while managing deadlines and multiple conflicting priorities.
  • Able to work effectively in a complex environment at a fast pace with an unpredictable work schedule.
  • Assist in the development of new cloud solution offerings and services, as appropriate.

Education & Certifications Sought

  • Microsoft 365 Exams and Certifications are an asset, preference for:
    – Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert
    -Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate
    -Microsoft 365 Certified: Security Administrator Associate
    -Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator (AZ-103 or AZ104) considered an asset.
  • Certifications such as A+, Network+, Security+, MCP, MCSE an asset.
  • ITIL Foundation v4 Certification, additional ITIL certifications considered an asset.
  • Two or four year diploma in Computing Science, Electronic Engineering Technology, Information Systems or equivalent.
