Position Description

Our Edmonton-based client is seeking a Senior Project Manager to work from home on a six month contract for 4 Projects within the PMO portfolio that will be undertaken or completed in 2022.  You will provide project management services for these and dependent upon workload, could lead other projects additionally. As these projects could be high visibility projects, our client expects that the you will have experience dealing with external clients and Executive Teams!


What You’ll Do

  • Deliver a series of projects within the PMO portfolio following standard project management principles including utilizing our clients methodology, framework and templates to successfully implement these projects .  Projects will be assigned once you have started.

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience with projects managed using different methodologies including Agile Methodology, Scrum Framework, Waterfall or Unified Process and within an ITIL environment.
  • Prior project experience managing budgets of 500K to $1M.
  • As an innovative leader, the ability to adapt and respond creatively in a fast changing environment and learn from unsuccessful initiatives.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to effectively link deployment operational initiatives to strategic priorities, ensuring that priorities are strategically based.
  • Confidently identifying and seeking out the correct stakeholders in requirements gathering.
  • Diplomacy with the effective understanding of key stakeholder structure and processes and political sensitivity in dealing with them.
  • Strong decision making as well as influencing skills in a complex environment involving significant risk to achieve positive impacts on decisions and actions.  Additionally, the ability to problem solve complex issues and develop realistic solutions.
  • Strong time management, organizational and facilitation skills and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Exceptional people leadership with demonstrated experience and ability to foster and support a collaborative internal working culture.
  • An open interpersonal and communication style that encourages goal achievement as well as providing your team excellent coaching and monitoring of their performance.
  • A history of building and sustaining effective relationships between, staff, stakeholders, vendors and boards.
  • Strong conflict, resolution and support skills to enable others to resolve differences.
  • Working knowledge of MS Project and MS Project Online highly desired.
  • Experience within the industry domain of Financial Services, Pension Administration or Pension Services is a definite asset.

Education and Training

  • Project Management Certification.
