QA BI Tester

Our client is seeking an intermediate Quality Assurance BI Tester for their Edmonton operations.  You will be required to work independently and within a team environment, interacting with a variety of testing resources and the Quality Assurance Team Lead and/or Manager within the organization. This contract has high chance of extension past initial end date of March 31, 2022.

• Experience with Databases: Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, flat files 
• Experience with SDLC for waterfall, iterative and agile methodologies. •
• Ability to interpret user requirements, detailed technical and functional specifications and apply this information to plan and develop test scenarios and cases
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Experience with testing tools, preferably TFS/MTM
• Experience in planning and estimating testing efforts

• A minimum of 5 plus years of Software Quality Assurance Experience on Enterprise level applications which include some Data Warehouse Testing.
• Strong understanding of ETL/BI/Data warehouse projects
• Experience reviewing data models, data mappings, Architectural Documentation to create/execute test cases
• Experience understanding ETL concepts and data loading strategies
• Strong in designing and developing SQL scripts
• Hands on experience with ETL tools
• Ability to read a data model, data mapping and transformation logic
